Minneapolis Baby Photographer - Baby Nixon

I recently had the pleasure of meeting this handsome little man to do a little at home photo shoot. I think mom will be very happy with the results. Nixon's Mommy and I go way back to high school where we use to cheer lead together (Go Cardinals, ha ha) but its been a few years since I've seen her so it was nice to catch up and  gossip a bit.

I can't wait to watch this little stud grow. He's going to break some hearts!

Love how the family dog, Cuddy, had to be sure Nixon was alright.
Sure doesn't seen like Nixon minds much :)

Minneapolis Newborn Photographer - First Day Photo

Another great day at the hospital. This truly is a gratifying & fulling job.

This beautiful little girl's mommy was nice enough to allow me to share these images with everyone on my blog. She was wide awake and quite happy throughout our session which just makes for some beautiful images that her family can enjoy for years to come.

Minneapolis Maternity Photographer - Chelsie & John

This gorgeous little Mama was having contractions throughout our session (her little man was born the next day) but we trucked through and got some cute shots of her, her fiance John & her little pregnant belly. I think I am going to love doing maternity shoots.

Congrats you two! Can't wait to meet your little man :)

Minneapolis Maternity Photographer - Rachel & Jeremy

This beautiful Mama was kind enough to let me photograph her and her adorable little bump for my first official maternity session. We had some gorgeous weather and besides the crop duster chasing us off the field (where I've never seen any sort of farm equipment in my life) we had a great session. Thanks again you guys and congrats!

Minneapolis Engagement Photographer - Christie & Matt are getting married!

I was so excited when I got an email from Christie asking if I would take engagement pictures for her and Matt. I've known these two since high school (even though I hadn't seen them in a few years) and they are as cute today as they were when they started dating (9 years ago)! It was so refreshing to see a couple that is so in love that we had a few little happy tears when asked to look into each others eyes.

We had quite the adventure and a little bad luck the first day we met up to capture some images. The rain decided it couldn't hold off another hour for us so after hitting up one of my favorite locations in Andover we headed towards some indoor locations downtown. When we got to the first location, a museum that I had been told by another photogo was a great place for indoor photos we learned that, of course, they were closed. (Trying to get out of the parking garage was an adventure in-itself. When a machine states that it takes Visa shouldn't it in fact take Visa?) Luckily the rain wasn't so bad that we were getting distorted photos so we dug out the clear umbrella and we headed out in front of the museum. Apparently we were standing where we shouldn't have been because out of nowhere we hear this loud foghorn type sound and look up to see surveillance cameras pointed our way. Needless to say we booked it. Oops! Next, we headed toward the sculpture gardens. I did like how those really captured the Minneapolis feel & loved how the rain made a pretty little backdrop on the umbrella. And because of the rain, Christie & Matt, you are the first people that have seen my naturally curly hair in a very long time, feel special! We ended our first day in the Guthrie. So glad we caught some cute silhouettes and cuddly type shots, it turned out to be a great location choice. I guess I never realized its the type of place people have business meetings or meet up with friends to do a little homework. I will definitely take clients there in the future if we need an indoor location.

We decided to do a second day because the first had been riddled with things going wrong and bad weather, plus we had to be positive these two love birds had some amazing images to display at their wedding. So we met in Big Lake because it has a big lake (Who'd a thunk? Ha ha) and prayed for some beautiful weather. Too bad it was so cold poor Matt and Christie were shaking in their boots, literally, and my fingers were so cold they were stiff for hours after. We managed to get some great shots of this beautiful couple before we had to call it a day. As we were finishing it we started to see snowflakes, luckily they stopped as quickly as they started. And, of course, a couple hours later is was gorgeous outside. Guess that's the way the cookie crumbles, eh?

All in all we were able to capture some great images that I hope C&M will be proud to show off at their wedding :) BTW, I left a ton of our silly mishaps out just so I don't bore those who just want to get to the pictures but I have to say it was one of the more adventure filled shoots I've done to date.

Without further ado please enjoy the pictures!

Sorry if that was picture overload... I just loved too many from C&M's session.

Congrats you two! I wish you all the best for a long long long life of happiness! Hopefully Ill be photographing your babies next ;) Haha.

First Day Photo - Mama E & Baby O

For almost a month now I have been doing contract work with a fantastic company called First Day Photo (http://www.firstdayphoto.com/ - We capture those priceless memories of your baby's first days) and I have been loving every minute of it. Getting to see the gift of new life, sometimes just hours after birth, is truly amazing. It also helps that all of the staff of FDP, my bosses included, are some of the nicest & most helpful people I've ever met. I'm blessed to have joined their family.

If you know anyone that is expecting their own bundle of joy this is unique & thoughtful gift that will last generations to come.

Saturday was a very hectic day at one of our hospitals. I was called in to help another amazingly talented photog (Joy Lengyl - http://www.joylengyelphotography.com/) because there were so many appointments that one photographer couldn't do the job alone. But amongst the stress & chaos I got to meet one gorgeous mother and her handsome little man. They made the day so much better and proved to me once again that being a photographer is one of the greatest jobs in the world. Mama E & Baby O were kind enough to give me permission to use their images for my own portfolio so I just had to post a few here.  Enjoy :)

Baby O was loving stretching out any extremity as far as he could. We saw his legs straight up in the air a few times and when I came back to show Mom the pictures he had his legs folded up so his feet were right in his face, ha ha. Mom was sure that was how he was positioned in her tummy, It was adorable. Loved this shot of his little toes all stretched out.

Have I mentioned yet that I LOVE this job?
How could I not when I get to see little faces like that everyday!

Ugh! Those little fingernails get me every time!

Thank you Mama E and Baby O for being your kind & beautiful selves.
Hope to see you again very soon!

The Oleary Family

Once again I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and her handsome little man, Isaiah. We had fun running around, throwing leaves into the air, rocks into the lake, going head first down a huge slide and just playing. I love it when I get to watch while my clients grow and document times for them to look back on. So of course I have to start with one image from our session about 7 months ago (I also love doing this because its fun for me to see how far my photography has come since the last time I saw this hot mama & her little stud). Hope you enjoy!

Love love love all the different expressions he gave me in the course of about 10 seconds... Adorable!

Sorry for the photo overload, there were just too many images I loved from this session :)
 Can you blame me??

Thanks again you guys!! Hope I can see you very soon!

Stephanie - Rogers HS Class of 2011

I had so much fun running around with Stephanie and her family capturing her senior portraits. They had some great locations! I love it when clients can show me their favorite secret spots. Here are just a few of my most beloved images from Steph's photo shoot. Hope you enjoy!

Precious Baby Maddelyn

It was such a pleasure to photograph this gorgeous little girl again. The first time she was just little over a week old and now this little beauty is almost 7 months, can't believe she's grown so fast.  She had so much fun playing with the tutu, listening to Daddy sing and trying to eat leaves. Maddie I cannot wait until we meet again!

Enjoy :)
